Janie C. Béïque

President and Chief Executive Officer, Fonds de solidarité FTQ

Co-Chair of the 50th Centraide Campaign

How would you describe Centraide in one word?

Humanity.

When did Centraide become part of your life?

At the start of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ’s involvement in Centraide of Greater Montreal campaigns.  Over the years, the Fonds has continued to be heavily involved with them.

What values inspire your commitment?

I would say generosity and mutual aid. I want to make a positive impact on people’s lives. That value guides my daily work and my current involvement as well.

What is your personal mantra for this campaign?

When we mobilize, we move the needle.

What would you like young people to know?

It’s never too late to donate. It’s only when we work together that we can help an entire community. Every donation counts!

What do you see as the community sector’s greatest strength?

Its resilience. This sector is always ready to do what it takes to tackle its challenges.

Do you have a dream for the future of Greater Montreal?

I’d like to see more of us doing things to make a difference in people’s daily lives and for companies to place more importance on their community impact.

What is your wish for Centraide’s 50th anniversary?

I hope that Centraide can continue to inspire Greater Montreal to show such incredible generosity every year that makes us so proud of our city.

Guy Cormier

President and Chief Executive Officer, Desjardins Group

Co-Chair of the 50th Centraide Campaign

How would you describe Centraide in one word?

Solidarity, definitely.

When did Centraide become part of your life?

Early in my career, I gave to a number of Centraide-supported agencies. Centraide has been part of my life for over 25 years, and throughout this time I’ve come to appreciate its impact. Serving as co-chair of the 2023 campaign is a natural extension of my commitment.

What values inspire your commitment?

Fairness, compassion, inclusion and altruism.

What is your personal mantra for this campaign?

We are stronger together and, as a team, we can achieve great things.

What would you like young people to know?

As our society’s current or future leaders, you can shape the future the way you want right now. I’m convinced that your generosity will create an even more equitable, inclusive, prosperous and supportive Greater Montreal. Join us to make a difference and create a better tomorrow!

What do you see as the community sector’s greatest strength?

For me, its greatest strength is its closeness to the people it serves combined with expertise and in-depth knowledge of what is going on in the field.

Do you have a dream for the future of Greater Montreal?

I dream of a Greater Montreal where everyone has their place and can meet their essential needs to reach their full potential.

What is your wish for Centraide’s 50th anniversary?

I hope that Centraide’s impact continues to grow and inspire even more generosity so that it can keep positively impacting thousands of lives.
