Caroline Bougie, Chairman of the Board (2022-2024)

Caroline Bougie has been President of the Board of Directors of Centraide of Greater Montreal since 2022. In addition to being a loyal donor, she donates her time and expertise to our cause, helping the most vulnerable in our community.

As part of our organization’s 50th anniversary celebrations, here’s what she had to say about her involvement.

“I have had the immense pleasure and privilege of volunteering with Centraide over the past 20 years. I have always discovered exceptional individuals who are deeply committed to transforming our society into a more just and inclusive one.

I’ve been fortunate enough to witness not only passionate and dedicated employees, but also – and above all – other curious and eager volunteers, always ready to pass on their expertise and collaborate to further Centraide’s mission.

I’ve felt this willingness at every level of the organization, whether on the Board of Directors, the Campaign Cabinet, various ad hoc committees, or during several terms on the Social Investment Committee.

My involvement with the Social Investment Committee has enabled me, among other things, to observe the rigour with which Centraide’s teams develop approaches that allow them to be attentive and on the lookout for the issues, realities and needs of Greater Montreals’ many neighbourhoods.

“I was also able to bear witness to the desire to respond ever more effectively to these issues by investing the funds raised during campaigns in a responsible and innovative way.”

In fact, in March 2020, a few weeks after the start of the pandemic, I witnessed and took part in one of the greatest demonstrations of commitment from all the people who lovingly gravitate around Centraide. In the space of a few days, with incredible agility, exceptional employees and volunteers rallied, as one, to raise additional funds, form specific work teams, establish new collaborations and develop new processes to respond, on a daily basis, to the urgent and crying needs of the community. The ‘Centraide machine’ was in action!”

Thank you and congratulations to all the employees, volunteers and partners who have made Centraide a powerhouse for over 50 years!
