Centraide is committed to reinforcing the youth and family camp sector as an additional way to develop the potential of young people and vulnerable families. Camps offer many significant benefits. This is why Centraide of Greater Montreal has partnered with the Association des camps du Québec (ACQ) in the UrsaMajor training for camp managers.[1]

About the UrsaMajor training

UrsaMajor is a new online training course for camp managers. Developed in 2020, this program meets a critical need to develop camp managers’ skills and leadership through mentoring and coaching sessions that the ACQ has offered since March 30, 2022. This is a first in the camp sector and aims to standardize the knowledge needed to manage a camp in Quebec, such as among others:

  • logistics
  • governance
  • programming
  • human resources
  • financial resources
  • marketing

The training program will be open to everyone starting in fall 2022. To learn more, visit: https://campsquebec.com/

Everyone involved in camp-based youth development should take the UrsaMajor training and make the most of these unique tools for a unique job.”
