Centraide is reviewing its
investment strategy
Before determining which agencies and collective actions to support, Centraide establishes an investment strategy with broad guidelines on the use of the donations it receives, i.e. funding level and duration, distribution throughout the territory and among different needs (food security, mental health, seniors, youth).
We began reviewing our investment strategy in fall 2019. Although the pandemic interrupted this work, the major and lasting social and financial effects of the health crisis impelled us to continue the process at the end of summer 2020. Centraide wants to ensure it remains as relevant as possible to counter the lasting impacts of the pandemic and help strengthen Greater Montreal’s communities.

The Solidaires are back!
New strategy, new awards
You’ve been waiting for a while now, but it’s official: the Solidaires Awards will be held in February 2023!
Since we haven’t been able to get together over the past two years, we have decided to hold the next ceremony in person and celebrate this special moment! You will be advised of the location at a later date. Until then, we need you to choose the agencies that will be honoured during this evening.
What are the Solidaires?
The Solidaires honour the leadership and social commitment of companies, organizations, unions and individuals who support the Centraide campaign. They also recognize the exceptional contribution of the agencies and people engaged in community action and who strive every day to combat the effects of poverty and social exclusion for our community’s most vulnerable.
It also allows community stakeholders to come together and socialize in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
You can catch up on the 2022 event (presented online last year as an exception and without specific awards being handed out) by visiting the Solidaires page.
New award categories
This year, we will be handing out 6 new awards in categories that are aligned with Centraide’s strategic social development orientations and new investment strategy. Depending on the category, awards may be given to agencies or collective initiatives (groups of agencies or stakeholders who join forces to take action on a specific social issue). Whether the award is individual or collective will be included in the description of each category.
We want to recognize agencies whose strategies, over the past two years, have enabled them to:
- Developed effective equity, diversity and inclusion practices at their agencies and within their communities.
- Demonstrated the impact on the people they serve and/or within the community.
- Shared their strengths and expertise through joint projects.
- Implemented a digital transformation at their agency.
It will also be an opportunity to recognize the contribution of:
- A citizen volunteer or a group of persons committed to his or her community
- A collective initiative or a space for solidarity that participated in an action with a strong social impact during the pandemic
For the first time, Centraide would like to give the companies that participated in the 2022 campaign the chance to give an award to an agency that got involved in their campaign activities and whose mission and actions particularly encouraged the company’s teams to contribute.
