Co-Chairs of the 2017 Centraide Campaign
Centraide of Greater Montreal's 2017 campaign will be led by James C. Cherry, Corporate Director and former President and CEO of Aéroports de Montréal, and Louis Audet, President and CEO of Cogeco.
Mr. Cherry and Mr. Audet will co-chair a campaign cabinet of about thirty people representing businesses, institutions and trade unions. They will be supported by close to one hundred volunteers who come from all of Montreal's economic sectors. These invaluable partners will plan Centraide’s next fundraising campaign for the official launch on October 4, 2017, during its march of support and solidarity in downtown Montreal.
James C. Cherry has been actively involved with several organizations, including Centraide of Greater Montreal, for nearly 20 years. He has chaired the Transportation Division of the campaign cabinet a number of times and also served on Centraide's Board of Directors from 2006 to 2014 and spent two years as its chairman. Mr. Cherry received the Michèle Thibodeau-DeGuire Award in 2015 in honour of his profound commitment to Centraide.
Louis Audet has worked on many major fundraising campaigns for charitable organizations. He was a cabinet member for Centraide of Greater Montreal’s campaigns in 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2004. Under Mr. Audet's leadership, Cogeco also helped launch Centraide's Training for Better Newcomer Integration project to help Syrian refugees integrate into their new country.
“The Centraide campaign is a key event for people who want to make a concrete and sustainable difference in our community. These two distinguished volunteers have a remarkable commitment and the ability to bring people together. They will be an inspiration for our volunteers and donors, whose support is essential for the nearly 350 agencies in our network,” said Lili-Anna Pereša, President and Executive Director of Centraide of Greater Montreal.
