Since Caroline Langevin became its executive director, Corporation L’Espoir has become an even bigger beacon of hope. Thanks to the incredible drive and dedication of this young woman, the agency has helped a growing number of people with disabilities understand the benefits of becoming included and integrated in society.
Caroline Langevin discovered her desire to help the community at a young age. At 16, she was involved with the Centre de loisirs Monseigneur-Pigeon, in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest neighbourhood. Later, she launched a home support and respite service for seniors in Côte-des-Neiges.
Ms. Langevin has directed the Corporation L’Espoir for seven years. This Centraide-supported agency provides tailored services to over 450 families on the Island of Montreal who live with someone who has an intellectual impairment or autism spectrum disorder.
Ms. Langevin's long-term vision and contextual analysis skills quickly led to results. As soon as she arrived, she started a systematic approach to make great improvements to member services. She also launched a communications campaign to improve the image and credibility of the agency with a new website, promotional videos, and professional-quality documentation. The agency has become a leader when it comes to quality services for people with disabilities.
Caroline Langevin has played a key role in organizing many successful fundraising events and outreach events. Many of these projects would not have been possible without essential partnerships with various agencies. Ms. Langevin firmly believes in collaboration and networking.
Caroline Langevin always says that everyone wins and loses as a team. And she is known for taking care of her own team, as she values everyone’s contribution and works to create synergy and a sense of belonging that help people move mountains. An adept listener who believes in transparency and collective work, she knows how to share her feedback in a constructive way.
Ms. Langevin has quickly become a credible leader, and this benefit is felt throughout the entire agency. She sets a tireless example, and her co-workers know that when she gets an idea, nothing can stop her. Everyone talks about her humour and joie de vivre and says that any meeting Caroline attends becomes an event!
She is someone with charisma and a clear commitment. Caroline Langevin has also given a voice to people with disabilities and has made the Corporation L’Espoir a leader in its field.
