Support the integration of immigrants and refugees

To start a new life on solid ground
Moving to a new country brings its own share of challenges, such as learning a new language, becoming familiar with the local culture and values, finding housing and a job, opening a bank account, or registering children in school.
Thanks to your donations, Centraide supports a network of 75 agencies and projects that work to integrate new immigrants and aim to get people of all backgrounds to fully participate in society. An annual investment of $3.1 M.
These agencies mainly work with families who have just arrived in the country. However, they also provide support to 2nd- and 3rd-generation immigrants, who experience different challenges than those of their parents and grandparents.
Concrete and lasting initiatives:
- Information, help and referral
- Affordable housing searches and other resources, depending on individual and family needs (drop-in daycare, reinforcement of parenting skills, liaison with the school)
- Psychosocial support
- Sociocultural activities and theme workshops
- Fight against discrimination
- Intercultural pairings
- Home visits
