Better understand
today’s challenges

Did you know that 60% of Quebeckers who are in a situation of poverty live in Greater Montreal? But what does it mean to be in a situation of poverty?

Being in a situation of poverty means:

Not having enough money to meet your essential needs.
Example: Having to choose between eating and paying rent.

Living on a meagre budget with no buffer for unexpected expenses.
Example: Not having the money to repair your car or replace an essential appliance.

Worrying about the future, being under constant stress, and often suffering from isolation.
Example: Living each day with the anxiety of upcoming bills, often in solitude.

Faced with this reality, Centraide of Greater Montreal has been committed to bringing people together and taking action for an inclusive Greater Montreal without poverty for over 50 years. Thanks to everyone’s collective generosity, we provide financial support and essential resources to over 375 agencies and community projects that help over 800,000 vulnerable people in your community.

By giving to Centraide, you directly help agencies that support the most vulnerable people.
