When life knocks them down, kids need places like Macadam Sud. Based on the South Shore, this agency is much more than a place for young people to spend time: it’s a place where they can find support, resources and, above all, someone who will listen to them. For decades, Macadam Sud has been providing young people with a space to rebuild their confidence and relaunch their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A mission that gives young people anchors<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Macadam Sud is tackling the issues that hit young people the hardest: mental health, homelessness, addiction. According to community worker Myl\u00e8ne Gervais, these issues have exploded since the pandemic. \u201cAt Macadam Sud, we help and equip young people to improve their living conditions with respect and human dignity.\u201d Far from giving blanket solutions, they tailor support to each young person to help them get back on their feet and move forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concrete actions for real needs<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Macadam Sud is a true toolbox. Street outreach and intervention, tutoring for students who have left school, a drop-in centre for 12 to 17 year-olds and an employability project are all initiatives that the agency uses to meet a wide range of needs with one clear goal: restore hope. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
