Through five scenes depicting the daily lives of vulnerable people, the new campaign\u2019s message is clear: the burden of poverty and social exclusion can be hard to bear, but with the help of others, that burden can be lifted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The centerpiece of this advertising campaign<strong>*<\/strong> is a one-minute video that takes a poetic and inspirational approach to highlight pressing social issues:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A child being bullied<\/li><li>An immigrant mother and daughter struggling to find housing<\/li><li>An isolated elderly woman facing food insecurity<\/li><li>A young professional struggling with mental health issues<\/li><li>A homeless person sleeping on the street<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns are-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:15%\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:70%\"><section id=\"block_6fb96e87b3dd00ac18a0d997ff0b9eee\" class=\"video__vtx theme-block aligndefault\">\n  <a class=\"video__vtx_link popup-youtube\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fFyvysARdOc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n    <div class=\"carousel-content__item__video__back\" style=\"background-image:url(https:\/\/www.centraide-mtl.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Miniature-YouTube-EN.png);\">\n    <div class=\"overlay_video\"><\/div>\n      <i class=\"icon icon-play\"><\/i>\n    <\/div>\n  <\/a>\n  <\/section>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:15%\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>These five scenes reflect real situations experienced by people who receive help from workers and volunteers from community organizations in Greater Montreal. The scenes remind us that people experiencing poverty and social exclusion carry an enormous burden. But the hopeful video also shows that through donations that support the efforts of the community sector, we can collectively make a difference and help them carry that weight<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The work of community agencies supported by Centraide, made possible by the generosity of partners and donors like you, is represented in the video by a woman who lends a compassionate hand and lifts some of the weight from the characters\u2019 shoulders. The goal is to create a collective awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:12px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the health crisis, which heavily impacted the most vulnerable members of our community, inflation dealt another blow to the least fortunate households in the greater metropolitan area. These issues are heightened by the worsening shortage of affordable housing. Centraide and the agencies it supports are directly witnessing the population\u2019s growing challenges and the urgent need to act.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:17px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:10px\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In the months leading up to the launch of the organization\u2019s 49th annual campaign, Centraide of Greater Montreal wants to raise public awareness of the issues of poverty and social exclusion. Ultimately, these issues affect us all. Together, we form a society, and supporting our social fabric fundamentally depends on mutual aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-white-background-color has-background\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-orange-color\">LET&#8217;S ALL LEND A HAND<\/span><\/strong><br><br>As it approaches its 50th anniversary, Centraide of Greater Montreal has adopted a new slogan: <em>\u201d<strong>Let\u2019s all lend a hand.<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>The slogan is a call to action to all members of society, whether they be individuals, companies, institutions or foundations.
