Volunteers are an integral part of the human resources who, along with qualified salaried employees, make essential contributions to the thousands of programs and projects implemented throughout Greater Montreal. The vitality of the community sector depends on their involvement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-little-title\"><strong><strong>Volunteers contribute in so many ways<\/strong><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:14px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Spending time with seniors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delivering meals to people at home<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preparing meals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sorting food donations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sorting thrift store donations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Homework assistance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:14px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-little-title\"><strong><strong>A core value<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.centraide-mtl.org\/en\/get-involved\/become-a-volunteer\/\">Volunteering<\/a> is a core value for Centraide that is reflected both within the organization and through its agency investment strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">.<strong>..at Centraide<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every year 200 community volunteers get involved with Centraide\u2019s investment and fundraising committees and on its Board of Directors, in addition to the 22,000 volunteers who support the annual fundraising campaign at their workplaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong><strong>&#8230;at Centraide\u2019s agencies<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within our network of agencies, the ratio of employees to volunteers is 1 to 8. Promoting volunteerism, recruiting and retaining volunteers, and managing the whole process requires a lot of work to which Centraide contributes. For example, Centraide financially supports volunteer action centres and programs at agencies that depend greatly on volunteers, such as agencies that help seniors, families, or people with disabilities as well as those that work in food security or mental health. The project allows young immigrants and\/or racialized people to have a volunteering experience in their new society.
