Between 2016 and 2021, the neighborhood\u2019s population grew by 2.7%, slightly below the Montreal average (3.2%). Growth was much stronger in Cit\u00e9-Jardin (+47%). The age structure varies by sector: young people are highly represented in Angus and Nouveau-Rosemont, while seniors make up a larger share in Cit\u00e9-Jardin, Nouveau-Rosemont, and Rosemont-Nord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 23,350 people live alone in Rosemont, ranking the neighborhood second in Montreal after Plateau-Mont-Royal. Except for Cit\u00e9-Jardin, at least half of seniors live alone in all sectors. Vieux-Rosemont and Nouveau-Rosemont have the largest populations of seniors living alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11% of the neighborhood\u2019s population, or 9,340 people, live on low income, a rate equal to the Montreal average. Rates vary from 6% in Cit\u00e9-Jardin to 12% in Rosemont-Nord and Vieux-Rosemont, the highest in the neighborhood. In absolute numbers, the largest low-income populations are in Vieux-Rosemont (3,350 people) and Nouveau-Rosemont (2,345 people).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
