This represents 2,705&nbsp;families in Pointe-aux-Trembles and 235&nbsp;families in Montr\u00e9al-Est.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-background-color has-background\"><strong><strong><strong><strong>\ud83d\udccd<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> <strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Poverty \u2013 lower than the Montreal average<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><br><br>6% of Pointe-aux-Trembles residents (3,015&nbsp;people) live on low income, below the Montreal average (11%), while the rate in Montr\u00e9al-Est reaches 9% (380&nbsp;people). In both sectors, children aged 0&nbsp;to&nbsp;5 are the most affected by poverty (7% in Pointe-aux-Trembles and 18% in Montr\u00e9al-Est), unlike Montreal overall, where adults aged 18&nbsp;to&nbsp;64 are generally the most affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-background-color has-background\"><strong><strong><strong>\u270f\ufe0f<\/strong><\/strong> <strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Low educational attainment (without a high school diploma) \u2013 above average<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><br><br>Among adults aged 25&nbsp;to&nbsp;64, 15% in Pointe-aux-Trembles (3,125&nbsp;people) and 21% in Montr\u00e9al-Est (535&nbsp;people) do not have a high school diploma, compared with 9% in Montreal. Three-quarters of undereducated adults in Pointe-aux-Trembles live in Pointe-aux-Trembles-Ouest, the most populous sector of the neighborhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-background-color has-background\"><strong><strong>\ud83c\udf0e<\/strong> <strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Immigrant population \u2013 low proportion but rapid growth<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><br><br>Pointe-aux-Trembles (17%, or 8,030&nbsp;people) and Montr\u00e9al-Est (12%, or 520&nbsp;people) have the lowest immigrant proportions on the island. Immigration in Pointe-aux-Trembles is older, while in Montr\u00e9al-Est, one-quarter (23%) of immigrants have been in Canada for less than five years. Between 2016 and 2021, both sectors experienced some of the fastest growth in immigrant populations on the island: +36% in Pointe-aux-Trembles and +58% in Montr\u00e9al-Est, the highest increase on the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-background-color has-background\"><strong><strong><strong><strong>\ud83c\udf93<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> <strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Youth graduation \u2013 below average but improving<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><br><br>High school graduation rates in Pointe-aux-Trembles and Montr\u00e9al-Est are below the Montreal average: 79% versus 84% in 2023.
