Children (0\u201317) and seniors are significantly less present than in the city overall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-background-color has-background\"><strong><strong><strong><strong>\ud83d\udc74<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> <strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>People living alone and solo seniors \u2013 strong presence<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><br><br>The share of residents living alone is well above the Montreal average (29% versus 19%). This trend is especially pronounced among seniors, more than half of whom live alone. La Petite-Patrie-Ouest has the highest rates of both people and seniors living alone in the neighborhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-background-color has-background\"><strong><strong><strong>\ud83d\udccd<\/strong><\/strong> <strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Poverty \u2013 rate comparable to the Montreal average<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><br><br>La Petite-Patrie has 5,520 low-income residents, with most living in La Petite-Patrie-Ouest (3,185 people). Low-income rates in the neighborhood and its East and West sectors are equivalent to the Montreal average (11%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-background-color has-background\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>\u270f\ufe0f<\/strong> <strong>Low educational attainment (no high school diploma) \u2013 decline linked to gentrification<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><br><br>The share of adults aged 25\u201364 without a high school diploma has decreased in recent years, partly due to the arrival of more educated populations and residential development projects. In 2021, it stood at 5% (versus 9% in Montreal), one of the largest decreases (-24.5%). Additionally, 64% of adults aged 25\u201364 hold a university degree, among the highest rates in Montreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-background-color has-background\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>\ud83c\udf0e<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> <strong><strong><strong><strong>Immigrant population \u2013 low proportion<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><br><br>The neighborhood has 9,565 immigrant residents (19% of the population), well below the Montreal average (33%) and among the lowest on the island.
