This proportion reaches 38% in the Plamondon-Sud area. A significant share of these young adults are students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-background-color has-background\"><strong>\ud83d\udc69\u200d\ud83d\udc67 <strong><strong><strong>People living alone and single-parent families \u2013 strong presence<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><br><br>The neighbourhood has 19,120 people living alone and 4,040 single-parent families. The Plamondon-Sud area stands out for its high number of people living alone, especially among seniors, half of whom live alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-background-color has-background\"><strong><strong>\ud83d\udccd<\/strong> <strong><strong><strong>Poverty \u2013 high, particularly in Plamondon and Plamondon-Sud<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><br><br>C\u00f4te-des-Neiges is the second Montreal neighbourhood with the largest number of low-income residents, totaling 17,345 people, heavily concentrated in Plamondon (9,040 people) and Plamondon-Sud (6,585 people). The neighbourhood\u2019s low-income rate, one of the highest on the island, is well above Montreal\u2019s average (17% versus 11%), and even higher in Plamondon-Sud (21%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-background-color has-background\"><strong><strong>\ud83c\udf0e<\/strong> <strong><strong><strong>Immigrant population \u2013 strong presence<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><br><br>Nearly half of residents (48%, or 47,795 people) are immigrants, a rate above the Montreal average (33%).
