With a budget of $1&nbsp;million over two years (2025-2027), this fund will let local agencies join forces to implement concrete, innovative&nbsp;projects. By letting local stakeholders explore new approaches and strengthen their collaborative relationships, the fund will help bring about lasting changes to improve living conditions in&nbsp;these communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-little-title\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Why does the South Shore need a specific Fund?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With an area of 2,706 km\u00b2, the South Shore is a vast and diverse territory that is undergoing strong demographic growth (+5.6%). This situation\u2014along with a patchwork service network that spans multiple RCMs and municipalities\u2014makes it harder for stakeholders to collaborate, prompting the need to tailor support to the territory\u2019s specific local realities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To address these challenges, the South Shore Collective Action Fund serves as an <strong>additional resource<\/strong> to help local stakeholders develop concrete, effective solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-little-title\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Goals of the South Shore Collective Action Fund<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strengthen agency collaboration to achieve greater impact.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support concrete, innovative projects that address local challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tackle priority issues identified by local communities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find long-term solutions while meeting urgent community needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-little-title\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Two key projects supported by the Fund<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n  <section id=\"block_148c4ecd45ab7bbf0e50bcd8dd03e3d2\"  class=\"block-accordions aligndefault\">\n          <div class=\"faq-item accordion\">\n        <button class=\"faq-item__header accordion-toggle\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"faq-69f3366fd9e5b\">\n          <p class=\"faq-item__title\">Safe housing brigade in the urban agglomeration of Longueuil <\/p>\n          <i class=\"icon icon-arrow-down\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"faq-item__content accordion-content entry-content\" style=\"display:none;\" id=\"faq-69f3366fd9e5b\">\n          <div class=\"entry-content alignfull\">\n          \n                          <p>Spearheaded by the Coalition pour le droit au logement de l\u2019agglom\u00e9ration de Longueuil and supported by the D\u00e9veloppement social Vieux-Longueuil, the <strong>safe housing<\/strong> <strong>brigade<\/strong> meets a long-recognized need. This project covers the entire agglomeration and aims to intensify the fight against substandard housing and support tenants in defending their rights.<\/p>\n<p>For example, a safe housing liaison officer will set up an initiative to have the brigade go door-to-door in buildings with six or more units. With this proactive approach, the brigade can identify problems related to inadequate conditions, safety, and maintenance in these units while referring tenants to the right local resources. The brigade also helps with communication between tenants, property owners, and other stakeholders to clarify options and help everyone arrive at solutions for complex situations.<\/p>\n                                  <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n          <div class=\"faq-item accordion\">\n        <button class=\"faq-item__header accordion-toggle\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"faq-69f3366fda09d\">\n          <p class=\"faq-item__title\">Collective action plan for the Roussillon RCM<\/p>\n          <i class=\"icon icon-arrow-down\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i>\n        <\/button>\n        <div class=\"faq-item__content accordion-content entry-content\" style=\"display:none;\" id=\"faq-69f3366fda09d\">\n          <div class=\"entry-content alignfull\">\n          \n                          <p>Since 2023, the Table de d\u00e9veloppement social Roussillon has involved agencies from different areas in its shared governance. The goal of this collective approach is to create a shared vision, a strategy for change, and impactful projects.<\/p>\n<p>As part of its Point de bascule program, Dynamo led a major consultation process to strengthen this shared vision and strategy for change, with contributions from many community, municipal, institutional and civic partners.<\/p>\n<p>Centraide\u2019s financial support has sped up the concrete process to implement a <strong>collective project<\/strong> in fall 2025 based on the actions and changes identified by the partners.<\/p>\n<p>We will definitely keep tabs on this interesting project!<\/p>\n                                  <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n      <\/section>\n  \n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-little-title\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>A commitment to the entire region<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While this fund emphasizes projects in the <strong>Roussillon RCM<\/strong> and the <strong>agglomeration of Longueuil<\/strong>, Centraide will make sure that the entire South Shore receives support. An additional $200,000 will be set aside for 2025-2027 to support the community development corporations (CDCs) and help them build their capacity to act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:16px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-little-title\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Striving for lasting impact<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The South Shore Collective Action Fund comes from a desire to invest differently by emphasizing social innovation and collective efforts.
