Centraide uses stringent assessment criteria to ensure that each of these agencies shares its values and effectively addresses the needs of vulnerable people. In addition to providing financial support, Centraide also helps these agencies build skills and leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Collective initiatives <\/strong>in which multiple agencies join their efforts around a common agencies that Centraide supports must meet certain criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Specifically, they must be incorporated as non-profit organizations, be incorporated and recognized as charitable organizations, be governed by a board of directors composed of volunteers, promote citizen participation, and offer services in the Greater Montreal area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-little-title\">\ud83d\udeab Agencies are not eligible<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If they work in the areas of physical health; the environment; international cooperation; cultural and sports activities; or events, symposia and conferences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-little-title\"><strong><strong><strong>How are these agencies selected?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Agencies are evaluated based on strict principles and the expertise of volunteers who work with our Social Development team.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Alignment with community needs<\/strong> and Centraide\u2019s strategic orientations.&nbsp;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Action strategies <\/strong>to promote real social change.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>An ability to measure the results <\/strong>of their actions.&nbsp;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Collective and partnership practices<\/strong> with local stakeholders.&nbsp;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><strong>Solid governance and transparent management practices<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Centraide also strives to equitably allocate its support across the territory to account for the specific realities of
