A cooperative response to the affordable space crisis<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Initiative immobili\u00e8re communautaire du Grand Montr\u00e9al is a group of over 20 public, community, philanthropic and financial partners who are addressing the affordable space crisis facing many community agencies in Greater Montreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A collective effort initiated by Centraide of Greater Montreal, the Chantier de l’\u00e9conomie sociale, the Coalition montr\u00e9alaise des Tables de quartier (CMTQ), and the Lucie and Andr\u00e9 Chagnon Foundation, the Initiative seeks to create stable and affordable community spaces over the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It provides agencies with structured financial tools totalling $18.5 million to help them purchase, renovate or build their own facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three financial levers to give the community <\/a>a new lease on their missions <\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  1. Support loan program<\/strong>: This program provides professional and technical support to help agencies plan an acquisition, renovation or construction project.
    <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Social acquisition fund<\/strong> : This fund allows agencies to quickly secure the purchase of a building or piece of land so that they have enough time to finalize the project\u2019s financial structure.

  3. Social investment fund<\/strong>: This fund supports the long-term financing of community real estate projects through loans with favourable terms.

    Together, these tools combine into a unique financing continuum that strengthens agencies\u2019 ability to act and supports their missions over the long term.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
