{"id":22914,"date":"2018-11-21T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-11-21T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.centraide-mtl.org\/media-news\/2018-rbc-challenge\/"},"modified":"2021-03-11T14:47:12","modified_gmt":"2021-03-11T19:47:12","slug":"2018-rbc-challenge","status":"publish","type":"medianews","link":"https:\/\/www.centraide-mtl.org\/en\/media\/2018-rbc-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"2018 RBC Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 class=\"marg_bot_15\">&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"marg_bot_15\">Employees and athletes climb Place Ville Marie and&nbsp;raise $325,000 to bring down poverty<\/h4>\n<p><strong>November 21, 2018 &#8211; <\/strong>Today, 500 enthusiastic and energetic corporate employees went head to head with 10 professional athletes and Olympic medallists for the 21<sup>st<\/sup> RBC Challenge for Centraide of Greater Montreal, a relay race up the steps of Place Ville Marie.<\/p>\n<p>The teams of 10 people taking part in this edge-of-your-seat sports challenge had two goals: raise as much money as possible to fight poverty and climb the building&#8217;s 1,000 steps in record time.<\/p>\n<p>Organized in collaboration with Place Ville Marie, this unique challenge raised $ 325,000 in donations and sponsorships, or $15,000 more than last year. This money has been given to Centraide of Greater Montreal, whose campaign runs until the end of December.<\/p>\n<p>The team of professional athletes who participated in the challenge included <strong>Joelle&nbsp;Bekhazi<\/strong> (waterpolo), <strong>Claudia Holzner<\/strong> (synchronized swimming), <strong>Lizanne&nbsp;Murphy<\/strong> (basketball), <strong>Marie-Philip Poulin<\/strong> (hockey), <strong>Sandrine Mainville<\/strong> (swimming), <strong>Lex&nbsp;Albrecht<\/strong> (cycling), <strong>Caroline&nbsp;Ouellette<\/strong> (hockey), <strong>Jacqueline&nbsp;Simoneau<\/strong> (synchronized swimming),<strong> Antoine Valois-Fortier <\/strong>(judo), and <strong>Dori&nbsp;Yeats<\/strong> (wrestling).<\/p>\n<p>The record of 2 minutes, 38 seconds to the top of the building was not beaten, as the best time was posted by the team of athletes, who climbed all 41 floors in 3 minutes, 12 seconds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":23332,"template":"","class_list":["post-22914","medianews","type-medianews","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":{"enabledWorkflows":[]},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centraide-mtl.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/medianews\/22914","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centraide-mtl.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/medianews"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centraide-mtl.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/medianews"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.centraide-mtl.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/23332"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centraide-mtl.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=22914"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
