Winner of the 2018 Solidaires Corporate Commitment
(1,000 plus employees)

In 2017, Saputo spared no effort for Centraide of Greater Montreal. They organized talks with spokespeople as well as neighbourhood tours, ran an event for Leaders (donors of $1,200 or more), handpicked ambassadors from many candidates, gave training on how to canvas for donations, and shared fundraising experiences with other companies. Saputo encouraged employee generosity by fully matching all donations and creating a wall of donor photos. Management also offered gifts and prizes for the silent auction and draws.

The commitment of upper management to help promote Centraide both inside and outside Saputo was remarkable. The Amelia and Lino Saputo Jr. Foundation is also the funder that contributes the most to the Leadership Challenge Grant (which matches all new donations of $1,200 or more as well as any increase in donations of 10% or more). We must also recognize the personal time that managers generously donated to give talks at companies or volunteer with the Major Donors' Circle or Centraide’s Board of Directors. All of this work demonstrates how much social commitment is part of Saputo’s mission.

The Solidaires Corporate Commitment is awarded to a company that has run an exceptional campaign supported by upper management and that has shown exemplary partnership and commitment to Centraide.
