Centraide of Greater Montreal marks the end of its annual campaign with a result of over $56M
The commitment of workplaces and community agencies honoured with the Solidaires Awards
Centraide of Greater Montreal is pleased to announce that the result of its 2017 campaign to fight the impact of poverty and social exclusion on vulnerable people was $56,165,000. The result was announced today at a recognition event held at the Société des Arts Technologiques attended by outgoing campaign co-chairs Louis Audet, President and CEO of Cogeco, and James C. Cherry, Corporate Director, along with about 350 guests.
Centraide also handed out 14 Solidaires Awards and a special "Coup de coeur" to honour the commitment of workplaces and community agencies in the fight against poverty and social exclusion.

The Michèle Thibodeau-DeGuire Award, which honours a major volunteer’s exceptional contribution to advancing the mission of Centraide of Greater Montreal, was given to Paul Desmarais, Jr.
At the awards event, Centraide also launched a photo exhibit dedicated to the winners of the Solidaires to Community Agencies. Over the year, this exhibit will travel to partner companies in the Centraide campaign. The public is also invited to vote online for their favourite photos at exposolidaires.centraide.org.
