Support parents and families

To let parents and families fulfill their role

We can't help young people succeed without the involvement of their parents and family members.

Thanks to your donations, Centraide supports a network of 135 agencies and projects whose mission is to support families and parents, reinforce their ability to act, and improve their living conditions. An annual investment of $7.7 M.

Centraide-supported agencies work mainly with highly vulnerable families (young mothers, single-parent families, new immigrants).

Some programs also target fathers so that they too can play an active role in their children's development.

Concrete and lasting initiatives:
  • Listening, referral and information services
  • Respite for parents (drop-in daycare, home respite)
  • Support and meet-up groups (coffee klatches, lunch meetings)
  • Workshops and presentations
  • Family camps
