Break the isolation of seniors

To give seniors a place of their own
The social isolation of seniors can have a dramatic impact not only on their own physical and psychological health but also on communities, who miss out on their rich experiences.
Thanks to your donations, Centraide supports a network of 25 agencies and projects whose mission is to help seniors stay active and engaged in their communities. An annual investment of $1.3 M.
These agencies often become places of belonging, mutual aid and sharing that are extremely important for vulnerable seniors (due to a precarious financial situation or reduced mobility).
Concrete and lasting initiatives:
- Cultural, recreational, information and service activities (preparing income tax returns)
- Community work with at-risk seniors (HLM's, residences)
- Intergenerational activities (homework assistance, pairing with youth in difficulty)
