Empower parents and young people who are immigrants or belong to a minority ethnic group to play an active role in schools, collaborate with the school system and community agencies in developing new approaches to support the academic success of children, and promote equality and democracy in the public education system.
Information and referral, continuing education, support for community leadership, collective actions on educational, social inclusion and citizenship issues, collective and individual action.
The Third Avenue Resource Centre coordinates the Parents in Action for Education program.
The aim of this program is to empower parents to become strong partners with local schools in finding solutions to problems that impede children’s school perseverance and success and to develop new ways of supporting parent participation.
