Christian Girard

April 2008

A scout since childhood and an adult volunteer in the movement since 1996, Christian Girard has distinguished himself as an outstanding scout leader, coach and trainer. Thanks to his leadership, dynamism and sociability, he has managed to involve the young scouts of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce in important issues affecting the needy. A man of great heart, he takes every opportunity to proudly communicating the values of the scouting movement: teamwork, sharing, mutual-aid, generosity, dedication and a commitment to surpassing oneself and giving of oneself.

A highly involved volunteer, Girard has established a multitude of programs both in his community and beyond its borders, always pulling the young scouts along in his wake. He got the “Pionniers” (14 to 17 years) and the “Aînés” (17 to 21 years) involved in helping seniors and disadvantaged youth in their neighbourhood. He also participated with the Pionniers in the Santa Claus Village program, which enables young people from underprivileged neighbourhoods to experience the magic of Christmas during a weekend at the campgrounds of the Scouts du Montréal métropolitain.

Centraide has supported the Scouts du Montréal métropolitain since 1975.
