Campaign volunteers

Raising many millions of dollars requires considerable resources. Centraide of Greater Montreal is fortunate in being able to rely on 22,000 volunteers to carry out its campaign.

The Campaign Cabinet is composed of about 30 influential volunteers, each of whom is responsible for fundraising in a specific industry: retail, pharmaceutical, health and social services, trade unions, government, etc. Each cabinet member puts together a team of volunteers, whose task is to meet with business leaders in order to solicit their contribution. The Campaign Cabinet is directed by two co-chairs, one from the anglophone community, one from the francophone community.

Companies and organizations

Companies and organizations (large corporations, small businesses, government departments and agencies, etc.) support our campaign by :

  • making a donation;

  • supporting a workplace campaign to raise the awareness of their employees and canvass them for donations;

  • enabling their employees to contribute to Centraide’s campaign by payroll deduction, at the organization’s expense;

  • "lending" employees to Centraide during the campaign period to ensure the success of the workplace campaigns;

  • giving Centraide free advertising space and airtime.

In each workplace, volunteers assume responsibility for organizing the employee campaign and canvassing their fellow workers. About 200 agency spokespersons visit employees in their workplaces in order to explain how their donations to Centraide help the less fortunate.
