The prizes we award

Solidaires, Agnes C. Higgins,
Antoinette Robidoux and Gilles Cousineau

Once a year, in order to recognize the quality of the efforts made in support of its mission, Centraide of Greater Montreal awards the following prizes:

  • The Solidaires are granted to organizations that participate in Centraide’s campaign;
  • The Agnes C. Higgins, Antoinette Robidoux and Gilles Cousineau awards are presented respectively to a Centraide supported agency, to an agency volunteer, and to an agency director.

Agnes C. Higgins, Antoinette Robidoux and Gilles Cousineau: who were they?

The winners receive their prize at the Distinctions awards ceremony, which is Centraide’s annual recognition event.

The Solidaires
A symbol of excellence for Centraide’s campaigns

The Solidaires pay tribute to the leadership and social commitment of the volunteers and organizations who support Centraide of Greater Montreal, and underscore the outstanding contribution of these partners to the success of our annual fundraising campaign.

Solidaires, a statuette designed by artist Hélène Coulombe, is Centraide’s tribute to all the people who support its campaign. Representing two figures holding up symbols of Centraide - the rainbow and an outstretched hand - Solidaires affirms our solidarity with the less fortunate and our commitment to mutual aid.

Our thanks to the Musée du Bronze d’Inverness for making this statuette.

The Agnes C. Higgins, Antoinette Robidoux and Gilles Cousineau awards

These prizes honor the agencies and people who work in the community network supported by Centraide, and recognize their outstanding achievements.

The Agnes C. Higgins, Antoinette Robidoux and Gilles Cousineau awards, which were designed and produced by Ateliers Guyon+Mailhiot, reflect the solidity and transparency of the volunteer-based community network supported by Centraide.

Each award highlights an element of Centraide’s logo. The rainbow in the Agnes C. Higgins Award symbolizes the network of agencies, which support volunteer-based community action. The hand in the Antoinette Robidoux Award symbolizes the helping hand of a volunteer extended to a person in need or in difficulty. The figure in the Gilles Cousineau Award symbolizes the employee who incarnates the spirit of a Centraide agency.

The Agnes C. Higgins Award recognizes outstanding innovation on the part of an agency in meeting the social needs of the community.

The Antoinette Robidoux Award recognizes outstanding social commitment on the part of a volunteer who is working or has worked in an agency.

The Antoinette Robidoux Award, Young Volunteer category recognizes excellence on the part of a young volunteer, between 12 and 30 years of age, who is working in a Centraide-supported agency.

The Gilles Cousineau Award goes to an employee of an agency for working with commitment, vision and steadfastness of purpose, thereby helping many people to take charge of their lives.
