An organization serving the Greater Montreal community
Centraide is an independent organization:
- managed by a board of directors which is representative of the community,
- which serves the Island of Montreal, Laval and communities on the South Shore,
- which uses volunteers in all its activities.
A fundraising campaign covering the Greater Montreal area
Centraide raises funds from the people of Greater Montreal by organizing an annual fundraising campaign. It canvasses:
A sound financial manager for funds donated
Centraide manages the funds entrusted to it very soundly, and keeps its expenses to a minimum, thanks to:
- the work of thousands of volunteers,
- the support of donating companies,
- the donation of many goods and services.
A strong network of community agencies and projects
Centraide serves the community through a network of agencies and projects that intervene in order to:
- oppose exclusion,
- help families,
- recreate affiliations,
- support the integration of immigrants,
- help communities to act.
In this way, Centraide promotes voluntary social involvement, develops community action, and builds caring communities.
In Greater Montreal, about 500,000 people are helped each year thanks to the projects and agencies supported by Centraide.
Centraide of Greater Montreal is a member of the United Way/Centraide Canada movement.
