Our code of ethics

Why have a code of ethics?

The administration of Centraide requires a framework of ethical operations because it involves:

  • raising funds which people donate with complete confidence;
  • investing these funds as judiciously as possible (there are many community agencies, so Centraide must make choices);
  • entrusting volunteers with the important task of raising and allocating funds.

A social contract of this nature requires a particular relationship of trust between Centraide and the community it serves. That’s why the 18 Centraides in Quebec have chosen to adopt a common framework for the values and standards of conduct governing their action.

The Framework of Ethical Operations for Centraides in Quebec is intended for the benefit of everyone who supports Centraide in the pursuit of its mission.
